--- About Live At Skymall ---

In the summer of 2016, Tyler Harland, who co-founded our trio in 2011, moved to Halifax. During his time in Edmonton we released 4 albums, 3 EP’s, and a few compilation tracks. We have performed live together 70+ times, including numerous festival appearances and a handful of out-of-town shows. Tyler will continue to be a member of the band, and whenever we are all together in the same city, we will make music. The distance between band members has forced us to re-evaluate what Pigeon Breeders is. We think of the group as more of a collective at this point. Under the same name, we have and will continue to perform and record with guest members. This is our first release to feature a guest member of the band.

The A side of this cassette is a recording of August 3rd 2014 from an after-party performance we did during the Bermuda music festival. We played to a small but wonderfully receptive crowd around 2 or 3 am. It was our first time playing at the Skymall house, and it has since become one of our favourite live performance experiences.

The B side is a recording of our second Skymall performance. It took place on May 13 2017 with our friend Nickelas Johnson (Smokey & The Feeelings, Field & Stream) as our guest member. This was his first time performing live with us, and we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with him on multiple occasions since.

Sadly, the house venue known as Skymall came to an end in September 2017. We want to express how grateful we are to have played in that space not once, but twice. This release exists to document these experiences that have a special place in our hearts.
