Concrescence is the fourth album by Edmonton-based experimental trio Pigeon Breeders. This will be their first cassette. While previous releases have been formed through the parring down of one or two nights' worth of improvisations, this is the first to compile various material over a two year period. The recording captures the band playing in a variety of local spaces (including the old Mile Zero Dance Studio above The Artery); the resulting sonic gallery is their most challenging to date, and the most accurate in its presentation of the group's scope: introspective ambience, tense and spastic electroacoustic interplay, scrappy free jazz, apocalyptic free-form drone rock, and beyond… complete and blissful abandon into sound. Pick yr poison, light some incense, turn off the lights.

This is good stuff, BUT if you are expecting the same as from the prior "Saturated," well then, expect something different. This is very Chris and Cosey-inspired and much more in an instrumental industrial vein than their predecessor. Still excellent work; just a change in sound. Eve McGivern
